According to the ancient Egyptians the deceased’s heart was weighed against the principle of truth represented by a feather of the goddess Maath. On one side the heart, on the other the feather: the deceased’s fortune in the afterlife depended on the result.
Composed of two balanced pieces (the heart and the feather), made from the same quantity of porcelain, it can only be worn by finding the balance between the two pendants.
